Purpose The purpose of the Lord Mayor’s Breakfast is to acknowledge God, the power of prayer and to invite the blessing of God over the City of Newcastle and her people.
The Annual Lord Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is a gathering of Christian churches, charities, businesses and community leaders who come together around shared values for the City of Newcastle and surrounding region.
In 2009 a group of pastors approached the then Lord Mayor Cr John Tate about an annual prayer breakfast. He agreed and the inaugural Annual Lord Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast was held and has continued with subsequent Lord Mayor’s (Cr Jeff McCloy in 2013 and 2014 and Cr Nuatali Nelmes 2015 – 2017).
In 2018 we invite you to attend and believe that you will be greatly encouraged by participating in the breakfast. It’s good to pray at all times but there is a place for corporate prayer on occasions such as this when a vast representation of the body of Christ come together in prayer.
The breakfast is a powerful time of church, civic and community unity bringing together like minded people and organisations to elevate common values that benefit our community.
To be able to acknowledge God, the power of prayer and to invite the blessing of God over the City of Newcastle and her people.
Hope you can join us this year as we gather and pray for our region!
