Sally Dover began the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast in Port Stephens in 2012 when she was a Councillor. It was held in Council Chambers with local Pastors and Leaders meeting to pray for the Mayor, Councillors and to honour Leaders who had served Port Stephens for significant years.
In 2017 it was decided to bring this event into the public arena for all who had a passion to pray and release a blessing over civil authorities, businesses, volunteer groups and community.
The breakfast was held in the Nelson Bay Bowling Club with 120 people attending and in 2018 the breakfast moved to Wests Nelson Bay with 180 attending.
